Concerts and events

Would you like to be taken on a musical journey, listening to songs and their stories from all over the world? Next to concerts I offer unique experiences in which music is combined with ritual, sharing of cacao, tea, singing together, meeting each other. I am super passionate about these events and would love to meet you during one of them!

On this page I give an impression of the different experiences I like to create.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
I am currently moving to Bali, where I will start organising concerts and events again, also online!

Solo

As a solo artist I perform different traditional songs from around the world. Over the past years I’ve been exploring many musical styles, their stories and their rich musical tradition.
My connection to these different styles is always developing and I feel very happy to be able to share different perspectives from these songs that reflect different ways of living and viewing the world. There is so much wisdom in these songs.
I have a lot of respect to these different musical styles and I know that I will never be able to fully understand or share these perspectives completely, but I know that I am able to deliver my own version of them. I accompany my singing with the Celtic harp or Spanish guitar. During concerts I do some story telling around the songs, sometimes in the form of a myth or a fairy tale, sometimes by sharing about my own traveling experiences.

Next to singing traditional songs, I also perform my own songs, that have a dreamy character and are highly influenced by the different musical styles I’ve been singing over the last years.

Music and ceremony

Our nature is cyclic, that’s why people within cultures that live close to nature, particular seasonal changes are celebrated. I love following those traditions and create concerts in which I combine music with storytelling and ritual. During these concerts we share some of our personal experience with what is going in within nature, we sing together and set intentions.

Cacao concerts

Music combined with drinking pure, raw cacao in a ceremonial way. Cacao is a plant that has many health benefits: it’s a great source of antioxidants, the highest plant-based source of iron, full of magnesium which benefits the heart and brain, contains more magnesium than cow milk and last but not least is full of bliss chemicals (serotonin, tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylethylamine) that make cacao a natural mood elevator. It has the power to create a natural high. Cacao is a true heart opener and it’s a beautiful experience to share a listening experience from this open state.

As a girl I have always been in love with chocolate, the darker, the better. And the story ‘Chocolat’ made me feel very tempted to become a chocolatier. When I first heard about cacao-ceremonies I was a little bit skeptical, to be fair. But since I loved chocolate so much, I didn’t see any harm in giving it a try. My personal growth is so much influenced by cacao. I gained many insights, sometimes visions and, most all, it created so much joy and a connection to my heart that is deeper than ever. I am excited about sharing the experience with you. During the concerts we create a safe space as a group. There is room to share where you’re at and to exchange experiences, or to remain silent. To sit down in stillness, to lie down, to meditate or to dance, whatever you feel like doing during the ceremony. And of course singing together is part of this experience. We finish of with a small sharing circle and fruit/pot-luck.

Tea & music

It can be so nice to keep it simple and even local. This experience is similar to a cacao concert, but of course the tea will give it a different flavour and character. With tea out of local herbs we connect to the nature that we are living close to. Our intentions can be set as well with tea. I love to share the experience of drinking something familiar in a very present way, which can make it possible to sense the quality of a simple herb on a deeper level.
